To me a power supply is... well... just a power supply. I thought there was some weird new hardwired regulation that wouldn't let you use it on GPUs, but if there are going to be adapters, and adapters are good enough, then that's fine. This 1200W unit should arrive today and I should be able to...
Wait so are we saying these new power supplies won't be able to power new GPUs at all? Or will there be adapters made? I'm feeling a bit annoyed about my purchase now as I obviously was living in a cave with regards to this.
I'm not sure what price you're looking at these for, but I suggest checking this thread out:

1200W P2 can be had for 159.99 with free shipping, and 1000W models are even less, and then you pretty much don't have to worry about...
I ended up buying a 1200W P2, and then a keyboard and wireless mouse since they were heavily discounted as well. I'm a bit worried about the noise complaints on the P2, but hopefully it'll be fine.
I'm looking at their power supply page and very many of these units are on sale. I'm looking for a 1200 or higher unit, which one should I get? I see P3's, P2's, P+'s, etc...
I'm going to install mine today or tomorrow, but I'm more or less prepared to say that any differences I experience are likely going to be just due to the fact that I reinstalled Windows, not the SSD performance. But hey the benchmarks say it's the fastest SSD on the market so it'll make me feel...
Thanks for this, I decided to pick up the 2TB yesterday. I doubt I'll even see a practical difference vs my 970 EVO Plus but I'm going to try it on a whim anyway. I've been needing to reinstall Windows after doing this swap to my 5950x and I'm just too lazy to try to back up everything anyway.
Wow, that's slightly lower than when I got mine a few months ago, open box from Microcenter, even. I suppose I should have just waited, but at least it's only a few dollars difference...
I just use rechargeable AAA batteries in those Duracell headlamp units.
I guess in a way they're kind of tactical, since they're small enough to be handled portably, and you can wear them on your head. That means that if you get into a fight with a bear or another large mammal out in the...
If we're going to talk about a flashlight that I think everyone on this forum should have... I highly suggest picking up one of these:

These headlamps are an absolute life saver for working on computers...
So I think the amplifier on this is plenty capable. It drives my headphones with no issues. Sound is probably on the warm side, since, compared to my Mayfield O2 DAC/AMP there is much less sibilance. Mic slot worked with no issue.
However I still can't get rid of my sound card, mainly because I...
