Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I doubt Amazon will eat their profit margin... I can see them doing something like not selling another Nvidia card if Nvidia doesn't provide the difference. Nvidia will treat Amazon different than it treats a person trying to get a refund.
4K is not going mainstream any time soon. I just have to throw this in there when I see people mention 4K because I don't know where people get this information from. Dish, directv, cable providers, and streaming don't have the bandwidth, and bluray doesn't have the disc capacity to do 4K...
I hope these are still not around in 10 years. Actually with sony breaking even on them already at launch the life cycle this time around will hopefully be shorter.
nvidia is only pricing the titan at 1000 bucks because they could. This is why competition is important. It's too bad AMD's CPU division couldn't be doing as well as their graphics division to give intel reason to push the newer hardware out there faster.
I don't actually remember what hardware I had from years ago... something like this..
Pentium 3 600mhz
Pentium 4 1.6ghz
Pentium 4 3.4ghz
Opteron something or other by AMD (underwhelming, should have waited for core 2 duo)
Core 2 duo E6600
Core 2 quad Q6600
2600k
next chip will be haswell-e...
Fact of the matter is there's no practical benefit to the average person to have 4K resolution on their LCD TV's unless they are sitting 4 feet away from the set. At a typical 6-8 foot viewing distance there just isn't the difference to be seen unless you have greater than 20/20 vision (and I'm...
The Wii created the most memorable original games that are a blast to emulate on a high end PC and play using Dolphin with an actual Wiimote. For that reason... kudos to the Wii.
PC for the win however.
4K is not taking over. There is marginal benefit to it's use over 1080p in the majority of applications. To even be of use in home theatre would require monster screen sizes, forget the fact that cable and satellite companies can't even provide the bandwidth to do 1080p on all the channels...
Sony had to do it that generation, because there's a good chance HD-DVD might have won that format war had sony not included the bluray player in the PS3. Including this bluray player, which was initially a big expense on their part, assured that bluray would take the format war.
I'm glad...
My gripe with GTA IV was how easy it was to get wanted by the cops, how difficult it was to lose the cops, how there was no open space, the long load times on the PS3 which made me give it up almost immediately, the draconian DRM inclluded with the release that required some online account to...
If I was sony I would have fixed this by charging $600 for the system the first 2-4 weeks, $500 the next 2-4 weeks, and $400 after that. To hell with the reseller parasites, giving extra money to ebay, paypal, the post office, etc.
I'd rather see the money go to sony than slickdeals resellers...
I placed an order June 14th and just checked the order and it now says "Playstation 4 launch day edition" with an estimated delivery date of January 3, 2014. They now have other launch bundles that include games listed on the website. I hope they have more than enough for everyone, so the ebay...
I call BS on the $500 PC argument. Who builds a $500 PC anyways? The video card alone for anyone with half a brain building a PC is going to cost around $275. Processor for me would cost $250-300, if I build a PC I'm not skimping on the components. My 2600k built the week of launch is still...
