Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Btw I'm not a part's changing kind of guy but even I changed out my PSU. I'd just say have a buddy handy if things don't go well.
But I made a list, lol even took digital pics so I knew what had to be hooked up to what connector, etc etc and it went well.
Also there's lots of good PSU's...

I went to omega drivers site...no dice for my XP 64 bit system. The regular ATI works fine for what I do (not a huge gamer) but want to upgrade from the normal crap ATI drivers.
Any help is appreciated...thx.
What 3rd party software can tell me what kind of load my system is having on my PSU? I just bought a new psu and it works great, but I prob overspent a bit. I'm just interested in finding out how many watts I really need is all.
Thx.
My current rig has 2 gig of 4300 ddr2 ram in it. I can upgrade on the current motherboard only to 5400, 4 gig total.
So should I add 2 more gig of the 4300 or replace it with 2 gig of 5400? I can't afford both, so which would run games faster?

These have great reviews and have seasonic designs. I'm in a similar situation and when I upgrade, it'll be to one of these 2 cards...GL

this one runs only $169 after rebate. If you can only run at lower resolutions wouldn't this be cheaper and run faster than the 1950pro?
Well it depends on the monitor. The one I have at home is old...so max settings is 1200x1000 (approx). This being the case it'd be a waste to go higher ram on the vid card, right? Just taking that into account since I'm personally looking at a similar scenerio.
What about the Saphire 1950xt? It has 256 ram. It's about the same price as the 1950 pro with 512 ram.
Should he consider that? What about if he's running in a lower resolution? 1280x1000?
Oh and the manuel stated that the card would work if the 12v wasn't hooked up correctly, but performance would suffer. So that's why I'm wondering about the P# being correct.
Yep that's how it's installed and it seems to work great. The reason I asked the original question was that I've been reading up on PSU's and it seems that the most important factor in the video card working properly is the 12v amps.
Like I said earlier, it seems to work fine...but I wanted...
