    I disagree with 7718. I owned a SDTV before a recent purchase of an HDTV, and I can say its still worth it without the HDTV. Yea, it does look a bit better, but not enough to make me not want a 360 if I had only a standard tv.

    LCDs running different resolution other than native resolution

    For anything that uses mostly text(internet browsing, etc.) your definitely going to want to stick with native, but I can say the games dont really look that much worse when scaled down. I always run at native when possible, but when I cant, I drop it down and it looks fine.
