    It's possible I suppose, Z68 chipset is only PCIe 2.0 vs the Z170 at 3.0. Both would be running at 8x in SLI mode though.

    I use this since I have multiple headphones now but no amp cause I have a Asus DG with built-in amp. The ends are nice and weighty so it doesn't move around on my desk. Cable is rubber but it looks about the same quality as the cable that came on my AD700s.

    AD700 is super comfortable but no built-in mic (you said you had a zalman) If you going to get a "headset" (built-in mic) just get the PC360s which are open (bigger sound stage / wont make your ears hot), comfy and prolly the best headset around atm.
