<Initially I was lured into buying a eizo screen the one with the 22" s-pva panel, which had a relatively high dpi, but after understanding here a bit of the underlying technology in these panels I am now almost conveinced that they will make text even fusier>
i've got the 22 inch Eizo with...
Just to add to this thread – I've plugged this monitor some time ago and I'm still delighted with it for text work as well as Quark, Photoshop, web design, etc.
It's the Eizo S2243W and it's a 22 inch PVA panel but with 1920x1200 resolution, so text is very good. The mild anti-glare is...
The text question is being talked about more now and it is important. I posted something the other day about an Eizo monitor I now have that's pretty good, as it as a 1920 x 1200 22 inch unit, so a bit unusual. It's also PVA and has a less aggressive AG coating, to my eyes anyway. I'm on Macs...
I'm pretty happy with an ex-demo Eizo PVA 22 inch panel I've been using now for two weeks. I can live with it - the coating is not too painful and the text mode reduces glare. Like Biosphere I returned a HP 2475w.

No LCD has great text in my view, but in fact when I look at a CRT it's not so sharp either, but what's key is the contrast/glare, and obviously, the resolution, which is why 1920 x 1200 is great. I use Macs and the font smoothing is not great on OS X either. I can run Windows on one Mac and the...
I've just got an Eizo 2242W, an ex-demo version. I'm very pleased with it, having returned an HP IPS panel owing to unbearable glare and fuzzy text.
The 2242 is a 22 inch PVA monitor but has 1920 x 1200 resolution so you get great detail. But best of all is that it has a nice 'soft but still...
I returned a HP LP2475W recently because the text/finish combination was unacceptable. It was fine for pictures and movies. I have yet to decide what to buy - as a Mac user it will probably be a costly Cinema Display as the glossy finish I think is better for the text heavy work I do.
I got an HP 2475w this week based on good all-round reviews but I've found it's a real strain for text - blurry with anti-aliasing on and not great with it off. It feels like it needs a good whack on the top to get it into register.
It's being picked up on Monday. Any better suggestions? I do...
