That OCZ memory is SLi-ready memory, by its name I assume it suits more for nVIDIA chipsets/when using SLi?
What about the normal ones, like Titanium or Platinum series 2gb dual channel kit?
In addition to my earlier question, I wish to know if the ZALMAN passive ZM-NBF47northbridge cooler will be a better option than the stock huge heatsink on the northbridge chipset?

Update: I emailed thermalright and they wrote...
I wonder if anyone has bought these coolers for the northbridge (HR-05) and for the southbridge (HR-05 SLI), and can confirm they fit ?
I want to be sure before I buy these
Also are they supposed to come with any thermal paste?
thank you
I am just planning to buy a 8800 card and dont want it to get old so quickly :)
Let me ask this, 8800 cards support shader model 4, so when there be an direct x 10 upgrade (to 10.1 or 10.2 or whatever) but still shader model 4 - in this situation can you know if the 8800 will still support...
Hello
I have heard that the current direct x 10 cards from nvidia will not support future direct x 10 versions, like 10.1or newer
This card is a direct x 10 card, in the future can it be that it will not support direct x 10.x? and in how much time from now, if one can know?
Is this...
I might be going SLI and also want the 3rd PCI-E slot optional for nvidia physics card.
If I didn't want that I would be going with a 965 chipset for just a single card.
Tigertank Did you clean the NB and SB ? It seems these boards have way too much thermal compound on them, and cleaning...
I dont want an older chipset, just the 680i
Until it is proven that a BIOS update fixes all the problems people are having I do not want the evga mb. But people still have problems with this new BIOS.
So until then, are there any other options?
Hello
I wonder what options exist as I am soon buying a 680i chipset MB. No OC planned.
evga 680i - Is the final P23 BIOS fixes all the problems, or are there still problems with this MB?
ASUS P5N32-E SLi - I think of getting this one. I hear some users are pleased with this board...
I assume you only need to put thermal paste on the chip itself (the little 'square' in the middle), and not around it?
I wonder how one can remove the paste without removing the fragile compontnts around the chip...
I guess when you remove the NB / SB cooler to check if there is too much...
hmm I am not updated on the issues with the 680i chipset
All the problems people have experienced with the evga 680i board, did it prove to be software, or harware problems?
I want to buy an evga 680i MB soon, and if its only a software issue then soon all will be fixed
But if it is...
Although the yet to be releases cpus have 1333MHz FSB instead of current 1066MHz FSB, one refresh model will still have only 1066FSB, it is the E6800m which according to dailytech (If I remember correctly) will have 1066FSB and will be clocked at 2.93GHz... which is the same as the current...
