Dang. Maybe I will remove the cooler and redo the thermal paste this weekend. I tried really hard when I swapped from the 7950x3d to the 9950x3d, but something must have gone wrong.
the building shaders is what hits 95C The CPU and GPU run almost identical at 80 or 81c, but the GPU pulls near 600 watts. That is why I am concerned with the CPU reporting so hot.
So I am starting to think my cooler is not up to the task or I did not mount it well. I'm using a 360 closed loop cooler and under some scenarios I see the temp spike to 95 C. normally during gaming its around 81c or 80c. Granted my house is kept about 81f degrees indoors as it is summer. I...
This is kind of a shot in the dark, but anyone using a 5000 series GPU and also using VMware Horizon Client for work? Every single day after about an hour or less when I minimize the client the Nvidia driver will crash taking vmware with it and it wastes about 5 minutes as I have to force it to...
Newegg was up to its old tricks. In the first 10 minutes I saw a few gigabyte models available, but only as a combo. I forgot they pulled that last time around with the 4090 to. Force you to buy something you don't need and its not returnable without the 5090.
I'm going for the Gigabyte Aorus Master again. I have my card side mounted so I can see the fans and the screen from above. The 4090 was very unreliable. The first one died and fried my mobo after 24 hours. The second one my tiny screen got bricked during a firmware upgrade. Thankfully...
I think they go on sale at 8 am CST tomorrow. I'm not going to try and stay up all night as I have a busy day at work tomorrow, but I hope to get lucky. I will not settle for the version I don't want even if it takes a few months like it did for the 4090.
mainly stable diffusion, but I am curious about getting a larger case and running the 4090 in concert with the 5090 to run some of those local models needing like 48GB vram or somewhere there abouts
I would just stick what you have if its working good for you. I was a bit worried about the burning before I got a new semi fixed bios myself, but just think that you could theoretically keep the rig drop in a new cpu in 2 generations and still be able to use gen 5 ssds, gen 5 new GPU and...
