Sadly trying GPU Tweak 2.2.1.4 with CCC 12.8 did not help. My voltage seems unchangeable no matter what.
Sparrow you must have a different batch DCII card to me or something :(
Nope I'm on catalyst 12.4 (rolled back from 12.7 beta due to desktop issues and haven't desired to touch a new AMD driver since).
I can give 12.8 a try when I get a chance. Does this version of GPU Tweak definitely work for you? Higher voltage readings? Higher overclock than you got before...
Was excited to read your post as I had given up on ever increasing the voltage on my DCII. Unfortunately while ver 2.2.1.4 of GPU Tweak can set the voltage up to 1.4v it doesn't actually increase the voltage on my card.
Under heavy load my core voltage still droops to 1.03v from an idle...
Are you sure your voltage is actually being increased? Reason I ask is that my DCII Top is voltage locked. Have posted a thread on it ( http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1694176 ) and responses there are reporting the same.
Really want to overclock my card but without being able to...
I wish mine was locked at 1.18v. My 1.09v actually droops under load to as low as 1.03v. That is impressive undervolting for a 1ghz core clock, however what is the point when the cooler is so good. Such a waste.
Swapped in a 7970 DCII for my 6990 yesterday to power my 5x1P setup. Very happy to see the back of crossfire.
My only issue now is I can't increase the volts on this card at all. Idles at 1.09v and under load drops to 1.06 to 1.03v depending on the load put on it (as measured with GPU-Z and...
When I had my tri-fire setup I could max out the game with the exception of AA at a res of 3150x1680.
On a quad-fire setup now and the latest drivers are good, on a 5x1P eyefinity config with 5150x1680 res the game runs smooth at a mix of medium/high with SSAO. I think that tri/quad fire...
Well if you only need to push 1680x1050 then you should be able to get away with a passive DP to DVI / VGA adapter.
I tried the adapter you linked a couple years ago and it was a bit hit and miss. I needed to plug it into a USB power adapter to give it sufficient power.
Try out the...
Yeah they are automatically activated when you launch the game ala Nvidia. However, unlike Nvidia, AMD hasn't included any profiles, you have to create the game profile yourself - choose the settings, point to the executable location and save it.
I had that issue with one of my HP ZR24Ws. The issue was the mini DP to DP adapter I was using for that monitor. Replaced it with a different one and it has been perfect since.
Thanks for your feedback. For Skyrim I wish I could get more than 2 GPUs to be utilized. I had 11.11c (which only utilized 2 out of 4 GPUs). I uninstalled that driver with AMD Catalyst Install Manager, rebooted, and proceeded to install 12.1 previews as per normal. Still only 2 GPU's...
Marcdaddy - just to confirm, you are actually checking the GPU utilization with Skyrim and you can get all 3 GPU's to be used? If so you are the first example I know of that has got the game using more than 2 GPUs.
