So just got off the phone with Amazon and the price increase doesn't actually take effect until next month. On a completely related and embarrassing note, wife finally forwarded me the email and the date clearly states March 2nd 2015. :o

I think it is funny that my membership auto renewed on March 2nd at the new rate but I did not receive the email telling me about the increase until today.:rolleyes:

Sorry my post wasn't about power conversion or consumption, just a major potential customer service issue as a result of this product. Currently my phone is connected via usb to my brick and it is plugged into a surge protector. If a surge comes along and kills the surge protector, brick, and...

My only question is what happens when you have a surge come through and your phone is plugged into the wall?
