if your gaming the resolution you game at is the most important part of info you left out
Right now the best bang for your buck is 7850 for ~$150, they OC easily and run most everything maxed out at 1080P
I also think a good cpu cooler that will fit your current cpu as well as future one is a...
no way he needs that large of PSU
I'm running an older Antec TP3 550w and have 3570K oc's and 7850 oc'd and have plenty of room to spare
He can spend 1/2 that for a 500w good unit
I think if Microcenter is an option just get a 3570k and decent mobo as it will have higher resale later
I have the same setup @4.2Ghz and I'm down to -.140v on cpu in offset mode and I get 1.15v with load level 3, then at idle cpuz shows .76v. I also tried an get no boot at 4.3 with LLC 2 on current offset so it will need more juice.
Wondering how you get down 1.12v maybe the vids on the chips...
that is good, my current build idles at 60 watts with 1 fan running, 3570K, Asrock z77 extreme 4, 7850, 2x 830 ssd's and a 3TB wd green. Which is a nice jump for me from my Q9650 and 4850 which was ~100 watts idle
Well So far I dont think the S1283 is up to the task of 4.4 for daily at least with a single fan(loud 120mmx38mm). Ran at near 80 C at 4.2Ghz after 6hrs of OCCT with -.06v vcore also lowered a few other voltages. I'm wondering how much the offset mounting is effecting temps?
The Asrock board is...
interesting glad I saw this... I just updated my firmware on my M4 last week and didnt have any issues till I set it up oon my new asrock z77 extreme 4.
I installed a new vid card with new drivers and it the screens would go black and freeze when trying to change screen resolution. Then...
Thanks for the reply, I know the Asrock board has extra holes for 775 mounting. I have the ack crossbow mount which IIRC is for 775 only. I did find the 1155 mount for it still avail on newegg well unless its only for the newer xig coolers?.
How do you like your board? hows the audio?
When I...
Planning on getting i5 3570k will OC but not looking for huge numbers 4.4Ghz would be nice. Im also going for power consumption which is why I choose this over the 2500k
1st question is I have Xiggy S1283 and would like to still use it as long as it can get me close to that 4.4ghz. Is the Hyper...
Funny thing I noticed you guys both have Gigabyte boards, I have the same issue when OC'd alot and using energy saving features on my UD3P. I can tell you for sure that on mine its the board, on my UD3P its the chokes near the cpu that whine. I have a BTX case w/ psu on top and cpu on bottom and...
So your saying using dd-wrt and boosting the gain or power to the antenna will only help sending and not recieving??
Its fixed, well except for a laptop with built in wifi. Its going to be 2 desktops and the laptop
Its a neighbors house, he lets me put a router there in the window hooked to...
Low wireless signal(house to house)
Currently have a Belkin G plus MIMO router and Zonenet usb wireless adapter that is supposed to be good
I've read about dd-wrt and willing to do it(on a diff router of course).
I'm just unsure of if antennas will be sufficient or a boosted...
