Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Not sure, but I'll have to take a look when I get home. There are some screenshots from a somewhat embarrassing post I made previous. Using the same PSU, just trimmed back and taped over the offending molex, and its worked perfectly since then...till now...
No access to multimeter...would probably electrocute myself if I did. :D Guess I'll put the video card in my other system and test it out. It only has a 500W PSU, so hopefully that won't be an issue.
I have a SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB and I have been Litecoin mining on it for about 2 months with no issues. However the day before yesterday it stopped mining, which was no big deal, I thought the computer just installed Automatic Updates at night and reset the computer...
I'm considering this, with a 6 pin to 8 pin converter. With what I've been reading, the molex chop should be a fairly easy exercise, and the 600W should be enough. BUT I havent made up my mind yet.
I have no problem admitting that Im a bit of a noob, but its not like I dont have any experience. However, in all the time I have been doing this I never came across the wattage specs for molex v. pci-e, and didnt even know that I needed to know that (if that makes any sense) and more to...
Looks like I'll go the new psu route, because I'm rolling in cash. :D I’m just curious, from an “autopsy” perspective, should I have used the one 6x2 pci-e connector on the current psu and then got a 6 to 8pin adapter for the other.
Here is my card. Apparently later models came with the 2, 8-pin connectors. So my previous question still stands: Will a Corsair CX-600 with 2 x 6+2-Pin PCI-Express Connectors do the trick? Thanks!
Since I need 2, 8 pin connectors for my video card (SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB) a PSU such as the Corsair CX-600 with 2 x 6+2-Pin PCI-Express Connectors would do the trick.
