    OpenVPN + Windows 7

Nope, it's still utterly crap, it will connect, route for about 3 seconds and then just fail out. Don't have a problem with an XP client.

    Nice! Untangle Unit!

Looks like the same flimsey box that my last company used to sell their firewall distribution on, I would much rather have a terminal size box or a rack mountable, personally.

What is in your IT travel kit?

Laptop, usb>serial cable, CD wallet, toolkit, usb pen. If I need to do cabling I have another box I grab which has cable, crimpers and ends but I don't carry it with me.

    Firewall computer ? Untangle/pfsense/others

This is why I didnt think the firebox would be up to it as the older ones on ebay are p2's!

    OpenVPN + Windows 7

I didn't have any issues when I was running this on windows XP and nothing has changed router end, it just doesn't seem to play nicely with windows 7. I've even setup a new box to test it on but it's just as flaky. At this rate I might end up going back to PPTP  :( /edit seems to be...

As I have said, it is still dropping the connection with or without those 2 additional lines :(

    Firewall computer ? Untangle/pfsense/others

I have found untangle to be heavier on the load, it struggled a bit on an old dell p3, maybe it was just a shit box lol.

    Firewall computer ? Untangle/pfsense/others

I'm concerned the firebox's aren't powerful enough for untangle, is this worry unfounded?

    OpenVPN + Windows 7

Unfortunately this is what I have been doing, doesn't seem to make any difference. For the record I am connecting to a dgteam netgear DG834GT. When I connect sometimes I can ping the netgear, most of the time I can't but if I can it won't last and it brings down everything including my net...

    OpenVPN + Windows 7

Why doesn't the dialer for windows work properly? It just will not route properly, and if it does, then it only does it for a couple of minutes and then drops it for no apparent reason. I've added the standard fix of "route-method exe route-delay 2" but this makes no difference, it connects...

Learning - Server 2003 for Dummies? Active Directory?

That's how you learn man, break it and then fix it! Personally, I would setup the box with esxi (piece of piss) and install a virtual 2003 server on there and then maybe an XP client depending on what kind of hardware you have. Creating a small virtual network environment allowing you to...

We used to use a half height closed box/rack which had AcoustiPack on all the sides and 2x120MM fans on top and an open bottom, running 2xPE1950's it reduced the noise by about 90% and the heat didn't seem to be a problem in either summer or winter, mind you our summers are distinctively...
