Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
sounds like you're doing the right thing for you. as an experienced PC enthusiast, you're comfortable with handling the issues. For a noob, this might be more difficult. But your experience, as related here, has decided me against iBuyPower.
Thanks for the tip, Dtizilla. You too, Andon Sage.
Was wondering if AVA is poised to be another IBuyPower/ CyberPower? they all seem to offer really steep discounts. wondering if they have the money left over to pay for really good support techs. from what I've been reading, if you choose the...
me too. When are we going to see these new htpcs? I'm in the market. Thought I would get a dt, but have been interested in what I'm seeing on cable card, etc. would make a good all in one.
Who else makes good HTPC?
Just a thought - I saw a clearance Velocity Micro PC w/ Q6600 at Best Buy last weekend. worth checking out as it was way marked down. Checked on bestbuy.com but it's not up there anymore.
aren't the new Intel quad cores supposed to be faster and higher performing? what about a q9450 instead...
probably so. a lot of the good execs have already left and now there's just more echo chamber happening. being valued together at less than what amd bought ati for should have been a wakeup call. problem is, who's going to succeed Hector?
I have both. looking for a new desktop soon. like having the laptop for school and surfing while watching TV (hey, I'm a multitasker). if desktop is for gaming and laptop is for everything else, you could probably do okay with a decent laptop on sale from one of the big boxes. that way you don't...
Thanks, Joe. I'm interested in hearing from folks here about reputation - which companies have the best reputation for support? I'm not familiar with all of the smaller guys and want to hear what the experts think.
How did it go? which brand/ size did you end up with?
(getting ready to buy a system soon - config will probably be Intel Q9450 and 9800gtx, so I'm looking for information)
hey - first time posting - sorry if I'm retreading a lot of ground.
just read through the thread and I'm planning on buying soon (building my own is sadly not an option). I've heard that ibuypower/ cyberpower are not the best on support. Seems almost given that a PC will have problems and I...
