AMDMatt should know if the Cards are capable of HDMI 2.0 - he would have already tweeted a correction by now. He sees and talks to the lead engineer on a daily bases. I highly doubt he would screw something of this magnitude up, HDMI 2.0 was on of Nvidias selling points when the 980 was...
I think its a pretty big deal considering Windows 10 is right around the corner releasing console games like Gears of War ultimate, Killer Instinct crossplay. More and more people are building PCs (steam boxes) amd showed a small form factor a little bigger then the xbox one so of course people...
I looked for adapters and found no such adapter that magically make my refresh rate go up at 4k. I even thought that I would need to get a faster HDMI cable then found out 1.4a cables would still output to 60 refresh rate on Nvidia cards
Well, I am currently running 2 r9 290x gpu cards and bought a 4k TV with hdmi 2.0 only to find out that my r9 290x cards would only run a max refresh rate of 30 hertz = 30 fps at 3840 x 2160 and while I live with it and the games like Shadow of Mordor looks damn good; I have no incentive to...
I recently bought a p series Vizio because of the HDMI 2.0 port for fairly cheap.
I was reading that the 290x GPU is only capable of doing 30fps @ 30 hertz so my question is how am I hitting 60 fps on Shadow of Mordor, Batman AC, Dying Light at 4k?
When going into game settings, I am able...
Well, the OP never mentioned overclocking the card and for a little more he could get a faster factory core clock without having to experiment with the settings.
I personally had a few tweaking issues overclocking the 7950, 7970 and 670. Comes down to time if the OP has time to tweak the...
I would at least go with a factory overclocked gpu; that card is 925mhz, my msi 7970's are factory OC@ 1010mhz
Also consider that this card will generate lots of heat within your case, I prefer the reference coolers even though it heats up my room but I know its not heating up my case.
@ the unknown one, what games are you having issues with micro stutter now outside of directx 9?
I think it should come down to what your brain processes when looking at the game on screen vs fixating on numbers not visible to the naked eye, get my point?
So tomorrow is officially the moment of truth?
What games do you guys plan on firing up first? I'll try rage first as its the only game i can visibly see stuttering on my xfire setup...
@ the unknown one, I can understand your frustration with EyeFinity not working correctly. It cost me a lot of money when I had a three monitor setup a few years ago.
My rule of thumb is updating every 2-3 generations so seeing that you are using a 6970, I think the GTX 780 would be the...
