Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Is anyone else getting this weird dithering effect in shadows? It's really jarring when it happens on Geralt's face in the middle of a conversation. I'm running a 6970 with 11.5b and 1.1 patch at 2560x1600. Shadows are on ultra.
I highly recommend the novel. It's actually quite good (Peter Watts is a fairly well known sci-fi author), unlike the usual video game adaptation trash. It doesn't explain everything but it does at least propose semi-canonical explanations.
11.4 preview uninstaller flashed my screen on and off while uninstalling until I just reset the system. Ran driver sweeper and installed 1.4 official and now borderlands crashes every few minutes.
I wouldn't use an 8.5 pound machine for school if you paid me, but I guess it's your prerogative.
Vim, GCC, and make all work fine on OSX. I do all my development in vim (mvim to be precise, but regular command line vim works just fine too).
If weight wasn't an issue I would still recommend an...
Since you mentioned weight, I'd just go with the MBP. There are plenty of other laptops that can match those specs, but I don't know of any that are as light as the MBP. A thinkpad T520 or W520 comes close, the only downside is that it comes with a workstation gpu which may or may not work well...
Let me tell you about replacing the hard drive on my macbook pro.
Remove 10 screws on the back
Remove 2 screws holding the hard drive in
Unplug hard drive and replace
Screw everything back in
Judging the current model based on your experience 5 years ago is stupid.
That said, I'd...
The new thinkpad x220s are coming this month. If I was going back to school I would get one hands down. My x201t was a lifesaver. Lasts all day with extended battery, light weight, built like a tank. I replaced the RAM and SSD too. Ram is one screw on the bottom, SSD just slides out the side...
