    Asrock Z87E-ITX

Everything works, but the mic volume is really low with all the settings to the max and mic boost to max. Tried with windows driver and realtek, same results. Have not tried with a different mic, but I know the mic is fine as I tried it on a different pc.

Anyone's microphone volume low? I have a desktop mic and I have to bring it right up to my mouth for any sound to be heard.

    Jonsbo UMX1 build

Nice. I wanted to do a build with that case, but couldn't find any US retailers. Didn't want to take a risk with the Chinese websites. Seems like the original design was to have a dual slot. I would ask Jonsbo if they sell that back piece only.

Low power data storage server build

Unless this server is going to be accessed by multiple people at the same times, a more powerful cpu isn't worth it. An atom should be sufficient enough to handle the tasks. But from what you want to do with your server, seems like a nas is more appropriate for your needs. You should check them...

Corsair Graphite Series 600T mid-tower gaming case

Here is a link that has pictures and a video of the case. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1320/1/ The 600T seems like a good mid size case that has some great features, but I just don't like how it looks.

Just ordered Samsung UN55B8500 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LED HDTV

PS3 is a great console, but like others have mention the PS3 won't last long. I have a couple of my friend's Blu-Ray drive die on them within a little over a year. For proof of the reliability of it, just google PS3 Blu-Ray drive failures. You see how many hits it will show.

Two LCD's for work use - Suggestions

If this is strictly for work, why get a monitor in a 16:9 resolution. It make it shallower from top to bottom and wider from side to side. Unless you turn it to a portrait position then it would give a better use of the real estate, but most of those monitors are tn panels, which we all know...

    HD Basic cable?

OP just drop the cable. Not worth it just for the basic HD channels. Cable tends to have the worst HD quality. Seems like you just need a better antenna. Go to www.antennaweb.org and put your zip code in there and see what antenna they recommend for you.

Gigabit! The fastest speed on earth!

No you won't see any difference on your online activity. You would only see difference within your network if you were transferring large files from one computer to another. Given that both computers has a gig connection.

    What causes noise in TV?

I could be wrong here, but the reason why said that was because the 50" tv should have a lower ppi compared the new tv. This would, in a way, smooth out the noise. Although I agree with you that what the op is seeing is just film grain, which is apparent in BD movies.
