    I figured out what the problem was... One of the ground pins on the PCI - Molex connector was pushed out, couldn't tell till I was taking the card out. I guess the ATI drivers cause the card to pull more power, even when booting & it just died.... and I went through all that work... lol

    the native resolution of the monitor is the 1400 somthing widescreen.... not sure off the top of my head. It has just been sitting at 1024*768 though after reinstalling windows ....
