Haven't been here for a few months since everything was running just peachy...........UNTIL...........my CD/DVD drive just vanished into thin air! - as far as my BIOS is concerned. Tried the regedit bit and deleted the Upper Filters - no joy. Tried Rootkit scans - nothing evil found. Anyone here...- SlimKiwi

Thanks for the update, CHF0. It appears that the Stock 160W PSU can deliver a lot more juice than advertised - or everyone is playing it safe by overstating the power requirements. Like milicz, I've had no power problems whatsoever, but it would be nice to find a 300W or more "no brainer"...- SlimKiwi

The Pocket Media Drive protrudes about 1/2" when the drive is inserted. I use it to store common files for a multi-partition system. Should be great for backups, too. I have the 250GB version. ($65 Used at Amazon, including shipping).- SlimKiwi

I must confess that I recently bought an 'Oldie-but-Goodie' HP 'Fatline' (DC7700 CMT), which I'm upgrading for my better half. Is the stock drive 5.25 form factor? Specs say SATA so I guess I can't use ATAPI, right? Newegg has a SATA special (SONY-Optiarc) for around $30+ $8 shipping. I'm deep in the woods with this! :eek: I may wander over to Fry's and get some (free) advice.- SlimKiwi
