Every brand has their issues, MSI has it's bad days for sure as well. I've changed few years back from MSI to Asrock and I've yet to have one board failing on me. But who knows, maybe the next one would be the one...
So unfortunately or fortunately ;) can't say anything about their support.
Well, for 1.5K you would do great with this, shame the GPU prices are a bit inflated.

Its modern days, those thinking you cannot mix brands are old school :D
Actually is more than fine, can you imagine if amd had issues with running nvidia hardware? They would have trouble with 75% of the market.
But for that CPU you surely dont need a high end motherboard with X370, get a good...
Yea, thats usually how it goes. I did the same when looking for my X370, the brands like Asus or MSI had less ports / features with a higher price tag. Not to mention weaker VRMs.
Pretty happy with my X370 Taichi, its a solid board. For the Z370 I've heard really good stuff about the Z370...
Amazon usually is pretty good with returns and customer support, had returned many stuff in the past and they always accepted no questions asked with full refund.
Let us know how that board goes, usually Asrock is pretty good when it comes to overclock.
Like Tiraides said, depends pretty much on what ur looking for on a motherboard.
ASUS PRIME Z270-A is very well rounded, the Z270 Fatal1ty also a very good choice if your doing any overclocking.
Not quite sure why people got the reference card, I mean they are already bad as it is as usual but now with this power consumption I would definitely wait for custom cards like a Red Devil or a Nitro.
From the 2, I would go for the Gigabyte. Indeed the MSI has it's issues.
Another option could be the X370 Gaming K4. Heard good thing about this one as well.
