    Acer 120Hz 23.6" 1920x1080 LCD... but it's orange!

Curious about the text issue: you all are using a dual-link DVI cable, correct? I know blurriness was always an issue with a CRT driven to high resolutions with high refresh rates. Sort of like trying to run a standard 60hz WUXGA panel with a VGA cable--it looks terrible.

No, the way I use it, refresh rate is everything.

Anyone tried the newest 1920x1080 by 120hz LCDs? I see they're on the market now, but how do they compare to the GDM-FW900?

Man, my FW900 is still alive, but I've recently had to invest in several LCDs, namely in my XPS m1730, and I bought a 24" WUXGA panel a month ago. I ended up buying a cheap TN panel, the Sceptre X24WG, and I do like it. Text is perfect, compared to a CRT, and there's really no flicker to speak...

Any practical advantage to 1920x1200 LCD vs Standard 1920x1080

You, sir, are confused. The "standard" resolution is 1920x1200. Only very recently have 23" monitors been introduced with a resolution of 1920x1080. Most monitors are still 16:10, which is the optimum ratio for viewing electronic A4 documents in a working environment. 16:9 is the standard...

Grr, they're possibly fucking me on this one. Looks like I may be out a monitor now, even though I "got in" yesterday. I can hope, I guess.

Try resetting the VGA cable (and/or the DVI adapter). Then make sure the video card's snugly slotted, and screwed in tight. Don't forget the cable's connection to the monitor itself, and perhaps try a new VGA cable. Good luck. /edit: I'm too smart, AND too lazy. :D Too lazy to read the...

Just got one--my eyes can barely read 17" wuxga anymore. Time to treat them to 26" wuxga. :D TN's the best for games. <3

    DYLM26E6

I just bought it for $210, and I need a DVI cable. Is monoprice still the cheapest? Is the boxed connection the type this monitor requires? /edit: holy fuck, 6.7 years :( hi2u [H]

What's the best 24" monitor for gaming?

The best 24" monitor for gaming is the Sony GDM-FW900.

Well, I took the time to play with resolutions and refreshes, and here's what I topped out at for a few common 16:10 ratios, and 1080p: 2304x1440: 85 Hz 1920x1200: 95 Hz 1920x1080: 106 Hz 1600x1000: 100 Hz 1280x800: 125 Hz* 960x600: 125 Hz* *I didn't test higher than 125Hz, since USB mice...

Heh--I just realized that it's auto, like you said. Thanks. I don't suppose someone's come up with a list of resolutions with max refresh rates, have they? Or is that published somewhere?

I just got one of these bad boys today. Question: If I want to use multiple resolutions, how do I "save" each resolution's horizontal/vertical stretch in the monitor, so that the screen stretches all the way to the edges when I change resolutions? My old hitachi tube had a "Store" button...
