Well I finally got something to boot beyond 3.0GHz. I lurked moar at the EVGA overclocking forums and found some recommended settings suggested by a few people, did my own analysis, and decided to tweak mine some. Here's what I tried on a whim:
CPU: 10x333=3.33GHz (1333fsb)
Voltages:

Early adopter. This is an upgrade on an older system, otherwise I would have steered clear of the 680i.
Thanks for the offer, but I've just bought this chip and I'm not interested in having to turn around and sell it just yet. Could you post the voltages you're running those two chips at to...
I'm a recent buyer of a Q6700 and a custom water cooling kit. Of course, the kit was bought with overclocking in mind, but I've hit an absolute roadblock. Nothing, and I mean nothing, will even BOOT beyond 3.0GHz @ 1.45v (set in BIOS, reading 1.42v here idling, 1.38v with Prime95 loaded). Even...
Well, I've finally finished my build (this is being posted from said upgraded machine), and I'm pretty proud of it. It may not be the best looking thing in the world but it certainly gets the job done. I'm idling at about 26C on each core, and I'm going to overclock it soon. =)
PICS...
Hello all of you water cooling vets and newcomers! I've been frequenting here and some other forums that focus on water cooling for a while and have decided to take the plunge. With the purchase of my Q6700 I am also installing a water cooling kit into the case at the same time.
Here's what...
Are you using the x64 version of WMP though? The 64 bit version of Vista defaults to use the 32 bit version.
Meh, I suppose I could just switch to 32-bit and stop being stubborn... >_>
With the advent of ffdshow64 builds, I'd like to play some H.264 encoded .mov files in Windows Media Player (64-bit). I've gone through and manually enabled the x64 version of WMP (/SwapTo:64 and the registry edit), so any 32-bit splitter won't work. Haali's Media Splitter worked for me in...
Just a quick question on the Combined Community Codec Pack- does it work with WMP11 x64? I'd like to run WMP in 64-bit, but I suppose I could go through and kick it down to 32 bit again. >_<
I'm using Vista Ultimate.
Have you tried the Vista Codec Package or FFDShow? I think both of them play XviD files just fine.
EDIT: I know that the Vista Codec Package works, because that's what I've installed on my machine (Vista Ultimate x64) and it can play the XviD sample on their website just fine without...
Well, my FAH log says that both cores have submitted their WU but the stats only show one. *emo tear*
Woot! Glad to be an official member of the [H]orde! =)
