If you read the site, you would tell they used different versions and settings on each of these tests and they give rationale why. These graphs are not comparable.
4k textures have nothing to do with frame buffer. Those assets are held in memory yes, and they will use more memory than non 4k textures, yes... but the frame buffer is only for literally holding the frame on screen.
I dont think MSAA should increase memory size usage just memory bandwidth...
How the heck would a 4k frame buffer be 5-6GB? Maybe I'm ignorant but wouldnt it just be 3840x*2160y*4byteRGBA*4byteZ&Stencil = 126 MBytes. Even if they did HDR that just changes form 4byteRGBA (8bits per pixel) to 8byteRGBA (16 bit floats per pixel) So you're just up to 252 MB. Even after...
actually curious here... There are systems that have two HDMI outputs? In software im guessing you pick one for audio and one for video? I'm very surprised by this. Never seen that before. I'm used to just using an HDMI receiver/amplifier.
Three things. 1) no I'm not retarded. 2) yes Google is much faster but I don't need the speed so id rather not pay more than twice as much per month for something I don't need. I could meet somewhere in the middle... But right now their product is just too luxury for my needs. 3) it isn't free...
