In my experience, Plasmas look much better than LCDs at TV watching viewing distances. They don't make for good displays if they are a few inches from your face because of the color dithering that plasmas do.
Just did the whole uninstall in safe mode, driver cleaner in safe mode, and reinstall of latest drivers. It picks up 640x480 now, but it does a lot of other weird things which were probably present in earlier versions, but I was looking for them. Namely, although I'm using the Win7 FW900...
No. I will give that a try.
Funny thing is - with either driver 640x480 isn't offered in the NVidia control panel. However, with 180.50 it will go into 640x480 if the game is set to that. With the newer driver, it won't do 640x480 at all. I was able to get bionic commando rearmed to do...
So far, my communications with NVidia have been laughable

This support person obviously doesn't even know how a CRT monitor is supposed to work. ATI, Here I come after buying NVidia cards since Geforce 2. What a kick in the shorts.
I have just submitted a question to NVidia about this to make sure they are aware of the problem. If you have the time, please do the same as I'm sure they'll take it more seriously if more than one person submits the problem...
Yup! Even with barely used old hardware. Time takes a toll on everything.
I've dealt with Unclevito recently too. I got a flawless FW900 a couple weeks ago. He was great to deal with. He even called me to let me know when the unit was going to ship. He obviously has a thing for these monitors...
This is a longshot, but have you tried cycling the power several times with a signal being sent? My HP version is on the fritz. It can't seem to detect input and resolution changes a lot of the time. I have to press the power button, wait a second, and turn it back on. Sometimes it will find the...
The text on my plasma is very sharp in "just scan mode". This is 1:1 pixel mapping. It is blurry in 16:9 mode, but duh... that's because it's stretched about 8%
One thing I can think of offhand is that plasmas dither colors. This isn't a problem unless you are sitting a couple feet from the set though.
I've been using my Samsung PNA50550 with a home theater PC for about a year now and I love it. The only thing I worry about is burn-in, but I've taken...
There are a couple posts in this thread claiming that the problem stopped without the monitor being ruined. My popping issue seems to have stopped as well, but I've got other problems now which may or may not have been caused by the popping issue.
