The HD 3850 AGP User Experience

OK, thanks. Makes one heck of a difference, at least in this benchmark.

The HD 3850 AGP User Experience

Probably true, when speaking of the HIS HDMI flavor. HDMI isn't an issue for me. I'd never use it anyway. The HIS IceQ must be a bit of a different animal. JellyBelly's 3dmark06 score is running a third again over my scores with the Sapphire card:eek:, and his system is similar (but...

Also, could that be an HDMI cable and not a crossfire cable bundled with the HIS card? The extra adapter is DVI to HDMI, and the card is called the "HDMI" version, and it has that cable in place of an HDTV cable. I've never seen an HDMI connector before, so I can't verify it.

The HD 3850 AGP User Experience

HIS have 2 versions of the HD 3850 AGP. The IceQ version is 2 slots wide and vents outside the case. The one being sold at Newegg is the other one. I'm running my Sapphire HD 3850 AGP in an Abit AV8. No issues so far. Actually, I'm loving it. I went from an HIS X1650 XT IceQ Turbo, and...

The HD 3850 AGP User Experience

Yow, you weren't kidding when you said you were done. I got mine installed Saturday, and I almost didn't get it in my case. These are l-o-n-g cards. It's working fine with the 8.2 drivers, and is just what the doctor ordered for me, running a 939 X2. I'm always pretty far behind the tech...

The HD 3850 AGP User Experience

Edit- after rereading, I think I catch the drift now. I thought forcing 8.3 drivers over 8.2 was best, but maybe since two people have reverted back to 8.2, the 8.3 drivers weren't really working. I think when my card gets here, I'll just install the 8.2 off the CD.

    HD3850 AGP: USA Availability

I was just about to be sorry I ordered the Sapphire 'til I read the price. I'm replacing an HIS X1650 XT IceQ turbo, and wouldn't have minded going with HIS again.

    HD3850 AGP: USA Availability

My old powercolor 8500 was great, but the first reviews on the egg reported problems with the fan with the powercolor 3850. That made me a little nervous, but I see it's back in stock now, and I don't think the Sapphire card is in stock anywhere.

The Sapphire card is now a "deactivated item" at Newegg, not just out of stock. Wonder what's up with that.

Here's my post with pics, #732 That pic of the backlight bleed is an accurate representation of what it really looks like.

    The Official HP w2207/w2007 Thread

I posted earlier my w2007 was ATGM24 under service, ATG001 on the box. This is one of a growing number of codes we don't have info on. Any way to find that out?

I wonder if an information summary could be edited into the OP. That would make finding the info a snap.

    AGP 3850 Released

Don't feel bad about it until the driver issue is solved. The 2600 still doesn't have drivers, and the same thing could happen to the 3850 AGP. I'm a perfect candidate for purchasing this card for my X2 AV8 system, but it's a showstopper for me if they don't fix the drivers.
