I waited for Bulldozer but in the end due to poor performance I decided to switch to Intel. Couldn't be happier with the 2500k.

If I was the guy who decided to put the FX moniker on the Bulldozer CPUs I wouldn't feel very safe about my job right now. Seriously seeing the benchmarks of these FX chips was a slap in the face for most of us, who anticipated the return of this legendary model name.

I just upgraded from a 720 be x3 (@3.5 Ghz 4th core unlocked). That chip was a tremendous value. It was starting to show its age though.

I am in a bit of a different boat, since I run OS X. So motherboard choice for me is mostly based on compatibility. So I upgraded now. Will wait and see when Apple starts supporting IB/2011 boards.

It's a power hungry chip I bet it's voltage/power related, especially since you're on your 2nd one.
