Shocked myself, as well. Just replace the RAM with faster RAM, and I've heard that performance can jump by 10-20% depending on the game! Otherwise an incredible laptop for the $$.
Somehow Newegg magically didn't crash at all, at least for me, on their shuffle page for all the new 3080 Ti models they are shuffling. I KNOW there are going to be folks with an 6am almost on the dot sign up on EVGA's queue. How do some people get in and some people don't? How do EVGA's servers...
This is taking quite a bit longer to get in than the 3060 launch. That's a bit surprising.
I'm thinking scalpers, not miners this time. Gotta be scalpers hoping for a cool $2000+ resell on the 3080 ti.
I miss the m.2 deals of a couple years ago. Those were the days! I got an SLC m.2 gen4 1TB for $120 on sale at Amazon. Been an amazing drive with 5000/4400 speeds just like this drive.
This is a decent price in today's market though.
And with shareholders, resellers, and most importantly manufacturers ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT, those in power have absolutely zero motivation whatsoever to "fix" the situation. They are raking in all kinds of money thanks to the way things are right now. Everyone who has a hand on the supply is...
Newegg shuffle was weird today. I've been periodically checking it all day, including the time it was supposedly running this morning. I am signed up for notifications (text and email) for shuffle events. I was never able to pick any items (tried on laptop and smartphone) any of times I checked...
Seems like the shuffle is shifting to AMD more than nvidia lately. Of course we don't know actual quanitities, just how many options. Could be 500 3070 bundles and only 2 each of the 6700 bundles. Who knows??
These resellers and distributers are just rollin' in the e-waste right now. I seriously hope that whoever projected GPU and CPU sales in order to manufacture the proportional amount of motherboards (and 650w PSUs that either start on fire or won't run high end GPUs properly) has been...
Never even got one into my cart. Too bad! I think my chances would've been decent had I known when it actually started ... I'm near an area (Dallas) with lots of Best Buy stores. Oh well! I tried.
So apparently Best Buy had a random restocking of the 3090 FE this afternoon, and according to the hotstock app they were available for a bout 10 minutes. Of course it notified me at the END of the 10 minute window rather than the beginning. I don't think I've seen them restock 3000 series that...
Got my typical rejection. Anyone win the Shuffle today? It had a lot of good stuff. I was drooling over those liquid cooled 3090s!!
ahhh, one can dream.
