Yeah I get that the monitor can be rotated. I was speaking more of the physical display area width of the side monitors matching the height of the center monitor when they are rotated.
ie. 16:9 20" is 44cm wide, a 16:10 30" is 40cm high. Based on that link I posed at Wikipedia.
As people...
I had thought about 1600x1200 but it's still not the right aspect ratio, so the size of the monitors display around won't line up again.
I have a feeling that it may not be possible to align the display area dimension.
I'm looking into making a PLP 20-30-20 monitor setup for my main work PC, and maybe the occasional windowed multi-monitor gaming.
I was about to order some monitors when I realized that the aspect ratios don't match up, and so the actual display area width of the 20's won't match up with the...
I am setting up a pair of OCZ Vertex 4's in RAID 0 in the next couple of days, is partition alignment still necessary on SSDs in RAID? If so is this spreadsheet still valid?
So I did end up buying two 5K3000's and adding them to my array of 3 7K2000's. I ran the new drives through 3 days of BST5 then multiple full passes of Hitachi's drive test and finally 2 verifies per expansion (I did the OCE in two steps). I haven't had any issues and everything appears fine...
I'm wondering the same thing re: stress testing my array. I've been running BST5 for about a total of 72 hours on the RAID5 array, the drives didn't drop out, so far my controller (RR4320) reports 0 bad sectors found & repaired. Is 72 hours of testing enough? I've run two threads on the server...
I got 3 of these on Monday and have had good experiences with them so far. I ran the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test Quick/Advanced tests on all three drives, no issues. I hooked them up to my RR4320 and the RAID5 array built with no problems. I've been running BST5 on them going on 36 hours now. Two...
I'm running a RR4320, and I have my spin down time set to 10minutes. I build the system as low power as I could, so I'm just trying to keep up with the power savings.
I'd like to run the drives in LowPower or LowRPM I'm just not sure if that will cause the drives to not work in the array...
I'm just Advanced checking my 3 drives that came today, long process, going to build the array tomorrow and stress test it with BST5 for a few days I think, see if it drops out.
I was looking at the Hitachi Feature Tool, mainly to change the APM to the lowest setting. Not sure if APM will...
Someone replied in my other thread that they are using the 1.5TB F3EG drives in RAID no issue. At least on the same controller as me.
I'm interested in either these Hitachi drives or the Samsung F3EG 2TB for an array. I'd prefer the F3EG's for power consumption and lower platter count, but...
That's a good idea. I'll probably end up stress testing the array for a week to iron everything out.
I also found this in another forum post, from Samsung, here.
"What Leads to Long Error recovery situations?
Enterprise workloads with lots of I/O including random I/O and Streaming I/O...
Well that's relieving to hear that the Samsung F3EG's will work in Raid 5 since the WD GP drives have issues just creating the array. It's even better to hear that you got the 1.5TB's working on a 4320 no problems, so I'm hoping the 2TB will follow suit.
How long have you been running the array...
Thanks for the reply. Yeah I wasn't planning on choosing any Seagate drives because of the issues they've been having.
You have 4 ecogreen 1.5TB's in RAID 5 on a 4320? They just wouldn't work in RAID 6? Or are they in RAID 5 on a different controller? Do you have any issues with them dropping...
