You should think about the Logitech G300. It's a small, low cost mouse, but a lot better for gaming than a non gaming mouse.

I don't use it for longer than 30 minutes at a time. But I do think it's interesting and I do like that most of the gaming monitors are going with smooth 120 Hz. 3D does seem much better with some games than with others. So I think it's down to the developers whether it's really worth it.
