    I don't think 100 more brightness will be any better since my hs94P is its too bright and I had to tone down my backlight. 50 more contarst probably won't make much difference but hey more the merrier. How in the heck do you swivel that thing since it don't look like it can be swivled...

    LCDs are inherently sharper and crisper than CRTs in terms of text based material. Just keep in mind that most 17" LCDs have 1280x1024 native resolution and fonts can be on the small side on that size screen. So it might be worse in terms of eye strain than say running 1024x768 on a 17" CRT.
