From what I've been told you will hit unsafe temperatures before you even get close to unsafe Vcore.

I think most people would say the sweet spot for i7 overclocking is DDR3-1600, that's why I got it instead of 1333 at least. In any case if not for Intel Retail Edge Big Deal in December I would probably go for an i5 processor instead.

Thanks, I've actually got a very similar setup to yours. Except I'm using a P7P55D Vanilla board and RIpjaws rated at 1600MHz. I even have the Sapphire HD 4870 1GB ;)

With 75C on load what program are you using? RealTemp? What is the Tjunction max that you have set in that program? I've been told by a few co-workers that I will hit unsafe temperatures far before I will hit an unsafe Vcore.

Doesn't seem like NCIX.com has any 2x2GB kits for i7/i5 in stock though :( Seems like quite a bit of people have recommended G.Skill, and personally I've only used Corsair and OCZ so I'm still not sure what I should be getting.

Clearance issues aren't a problem. How about some of the 4GB kits of DDR3 OCZ RAM? I've never used G.Skill before. In general DDR3 for i7 that runs at 1.5v is better than 1.65v? I like the look of the heatsink for the Trident's more for what it's worth haha!
