    Hot swap bios

Nope, my bios didn't seem to have the boot block, cus it didn't seek the floppy drive. That's why i wanted a hot swap. However, my uncle's comp store turned out to have an Amptron mobo with the same chipsets and same bios distribution, just diff model. I tried his bios chip in mine. I...

    Hot swap bios

I got desperate. I bought a 9800 radeon and my board wouldn't support it. The latest bios on the website was from 2002, and ZDNET seemed like a trusted place to download the 2003 revision from, sadly I was wrong. I left the CMOS reseted for freakin like 2 days and still nothing. The...

WTB: Dead, Floating, In the Water, Radeon 9800 PRO

Shit man, I just hope no one on HardOCP forum have that prob. Trying to replace a GPU would be near impossible since it's not as easy as replacing a burnt out capacitor or transistor. Common the other 10% :D

WTB: Dead, Floating, In the Water, Radeon 9800 PRO

Yea, you are right, you are threading crap. But for your pleasure I changed the specs... Kingghost, that's true, but usually ati will fix it in the 100's, when it has to do with OEM. And besides, those who can probably fix cards without spending abunch of money from ATI, more power to them no?

WTB: Dead, Floating, In the Water, Radeon 9800 PRO

It's possible. You know that really half the cards you could get are sometimes a shorted transistor or capicitor? My brother is in Electrical Engineering @ University, he was able to fix a dead geforce ti4200 because it had a shorted transistor. See... who says Knowledge isn't power? :D

    Good Old Days

It may stink... but the fact that WE were overclocking the shit out of the value cards and receiving close ot the same results as the more expensive cards wasn't good business sense. Enter the change from frequency differences only.
