Yeah, I noticed that the manual says "Power Up Edition," too in the newegg pictures. I ended up ordering it today.
I'm pretty sure that last week, NewEgg's description said "Power up Edition". I was a little confused when I saw that it was gone today.
I'm building an E6700 system using...
I'm not sure if this was already mentioned in this thread.
"I suppose if you wanted to add a TV tuner, you could make use of Windows MCE if you wanted to add two TV tuners (a configuration Dell offers), youd have to uninstall the PCI modem."
You can buy an external USB TV tuner that is...
I have 750GB in my current case. :) Only 200GB is used for recording HD video using Media Center. The rest is for storing DVDs. The main problem I have with the door in front of the case is specifically for ripping DVDs and for burning them. When I burn them using DVD Decrypter, it will...
Yeah, I have currently have a P4 3.4GHz with a Thermaltake typhoon HSF with a 120mm fan on it. I have a ton of fans in the case, but all of them are running really slow so it stays quiet. I also have the recommended xclio PS with a 120mm fan.
The typhoon wouldn't fit in a tiny HTPC case...
The only other PC I have at the moment is a Dell, and we all know how good they are at holding lots of hard drives. I'd love to have a media server, but it just isn't in the cards right now.
I saw that the Thermaltake Bach case can hold 5 3.5" hard drives, but given the close proximity to...
It has to look finished, though. This will be in a living room. The P180 didn't appear to look very finished behind the door.
I would love a horizontal desktop style case for under the TV, next to my receiver, but they are all far too compromised when it comes to hard drive bays. Gotta...
I'm looking for a case that is set up like the P180, but without the door in the front. This is a home theater PC, and I hate getting up to walk across the room to change the DVD as it is, let alone having to open a door before ejecting it. ;)
I have 4 hard drives in my current ancient InWin...
I just bought a PNY 6600GT PCIe. It has two DVI ports as outputs. My Mitsubishi DLP TV has a VGA input. So that is what I use to get video from the comptuer to the TV.
No problem, right? Just use one of the adapters that PNY includes.
Trouble is that the drivers recognize my TV as a...
I just bought an MSI K8N Neo Platinum. And I have an A64 3000+. I love it. Very stable, tons of features. The onboard audio is good enough that I'll never have to buy an audio card. If you buy one new, MSI has a $15 rebate right now.
Is there a reason to get a good DVD player if you have a good HTPC? Will a DVD player's output look better?
Or, perhaps I should ask, Is there a video card out there that can rival the output of very good DVD players?
Yeah, I saw a SONY plasma in a local Circuit City that had SONY burnt into the screen something awful. Plasmas are going to go the way of the dodo in the next few years, anyway, as LCDs drop in price and ultra thin projection DLPs start appearing.
RCA already has a 60" DLP projection set...
I love my Harmony remote. Buy the harmony 680 from comp-u-plus ( www.compuplus.com ). Then use this 25% off rebate.

$108 * .75 = $81 after rebate
Or get a 659 for $81. Price after rebate = $60
I prefer the...
The Cablecard only has information on it that allows the tuner to descramble cable channels (digital or analog, HD or SD). The Cablecard is in a PCMCIA form factor. You still need a QAM tuner, though.
Apparently cable companies are required to send local HD channels unscrambled, though. So...
