from this to this Should be 100Mbit down, 40Mbit up (VDSL2 vectoring), but this test doesn't seem to be too great in Germany. Modem syncs with 109Mbit down and 42Mbit up, firewall is handling that load pretty good.

    Pictures Of Your Dually Rigs!

got something new to play with, this needs to be tested and confirmed to be working with everything we have at work like sw distribution, network, etc. Got three of them to test with, so I took one to play with. We might even be able to keep them...crappy graphics cards included... some...

I had some real issues with coverage while I had 2 of 3 mounted that way. Putting them on a wooden bracket attached with metal brackets to the wall (ceiling was too high) did result in a coverage as I had wished before.

forgot to take a pic of the covered frame...but...I bought the IP card. Now SIP capable, just didn't connect it to a SIP trunk yet. It is quite dirty, because I had it up and running before I drilled some holes for the MDF. Stupid me. Top board is the main board, to the right, there are 4 FXS...

AFAIK there's a lot more other blocks in use in the US, the Krone blocks are nice though. And the same termination tool can be used for network connections and whatever else. You're right about the cover. There's a metal cover on top of it, covering the whole frame from top to bottom. Just...

Today I had some spare time to throw out my old PBX (older Siemens Hipath 3550 Version 4) which had some missing features compared to the newer versions. I got hands on an used Siemens Hipath 3500 V9 (same as 3550, just 19" case), which is IP capable if I ever want to use it. Why am I not...

I actually pay almost the same as every normal customer does. So, working for an ISP doesn't necessarily mean you get free internet ;) and if this ISP is one of the largest employers in Germany, chances are close to 0 to get it for free :D

It's in Germany (so no Comcast for me ;) ) and my provider doesn't allow reselling as in reselling for money but they don't clearly say it's against their TOS to share it without fee. Since I work for my ISP, I asked some people, that should know about it ;) Why no own circuit down there...

in April, we built a "public" WiFi in our town hall and fire department next door. "Public" because it is secured by WPA2 where only users of the town hall and all members of the fire department know the key, and they also know that it can be changed any time. Reason for all that was that the...

yeah I guess that's what he was thinking. We had already 2 arrays failing which lead us to reinstall 15 VDIs on each array in one night. Caused the host to be in a really high load situation :D

depends on what you wanna do with it. For now our VDI runs on HP DL580 G5 (freaking old stuff with Xeon 7400s) with 64-384GB RAM, depending on the host, and a few RAID0s (whoever designed that should be killed). Only one host is a DL580 with Xeon E5s. Users usually don't complain about the...

Germany. Slow. Sucks. actually knowing I'd just get 3Mbit/s down but having 6 due to knowing someone who knows some guy that can just switch DSL profiles is a good thing, but it's still slow. They won't change it to a 16Mbit/s ADSL2+ profile, otherwise I'd have somewhat around 10-12Mbit/s...
