Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
That should be really easy to replace. Its easy when the legs of the chip go though the circuit board like that. As long as the amp burning up didn't damage anything else you should be fine.
Monoprice has two 5.1 speaker sets, one is around $100 and the other hovers around 200. The 200 has won several awards and the 100 isn't bad either. There are several sites that sell 5.1 receivers that are refurbished for less than 200 some close to 100.
That's good. I repair TVs for a living and Sony is one of the hardest to work with. My company is going to stop selling them because they don't even want to provide us with parts anymore. I use to work for sharp refurbishing their 80" and 90" tv's. If the scratch was on the upper surface of the...
An internal defect is going to be hard to prove. Most people at retail don't know what they are looking at. If it was a crack or something like that the screen wouldn't be working in the area around the crack. So don't worry about that. You are kind of sol when it comes to getting them to take...
Its a scratch on the polarizer. Its a layer of plastic film on top of the glass. Sometimes you can get them off with a little bit of auto scratch remover. Just apply a little bit of it to a piece of disposable shop cloth and gently rub the scratch. Then clean the area off. As long as it isn't...
I would say yes OpenAL is using hardware based on that info, but again maybe Creative wrote their OpenAL drivers to report hardware acceleration when its just offloading it to the cpu. That would be very tricky almost to the point of them being downright dishonest.
I know overall everybody dislikes Bose, but he didn't ask for suggestions on new non-Bose speakers. He asked which companion series speakers do what he wanted. He doesn't want to rebuild his whole setup. He just wants to add to it.
Well you probably will get a little more bass from the BC 5's but I don't know about overall loudness. The BC 5's really don't sound any better then the BC 3's unless you actually use the usb input. When using the aux input it will sound about the same as the BC 3's.
