Last physical game I bought was Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim back in 2011
I stood in the midnight line for the game, opened it up, popped in the DVD disk, and the only file on the DVD was a Steam.exe install file....I kid you not. It still had to download/update Steam itself and the entire game.
I...
Here's a quick & dirty of my EVO case w/ optional front mesh/fan accessory:
I'm coming from the original PC-O11 AIR. Very similar case, but easier to build in since it is slightly bigger. For example, there's more room for my top (thick) 360mm AIO radiator and my side 360mm AIO GPU radiator...
Yes Baasha this is just a Windows 10/11 issue and not the fault of any monitor. Some games will automatically kick your monitor into HDR once loaded (if turned off), while other games don't. Before, I had to keep an Excel spreadsheet of all the games I played just to know which games I had to...
I’m coming from the original PC-O11 Air which I’ve heard has some pretty restrictive airflow due to the hole & filter design.
I pre-ordered on launch day via Newegg and my ETA unfortunately just went from Jan 15th to the 29th. I got the front mesh/fan add-on as well.
I also ordered 2 cases, so...
Voted for Glossy:
Glossy = Looks best in optimal situations, bad in suboptimal conditions (window behind screen)
Matte = Looks bad in all situations (and there's nothing you can do about it)
All - Please note that there's also a new Acer 48" OLED which is probably another clone of the LG/Asus 2022 OLED's, but check out the price & release date.....:
The Predator CG48 gaming monitor will be available in North America in Q3 2022 starting at USD 2,499; in EMEA in Q3 2022 starting at...
Asus said it in the product video about a dozen posts up. ~900 nit brightness (@ 3% window). For comparision, the LG C1 48" gets around 790 nits at around 2~10% window.
Unlike the Gigabyte model, I actually trust Asus to push these specs since they are not shy from putting beefy heatsinks on...
I think the Asus 42"/48" model may very well out-beat the LG 42"/48" C2 model unlike the trainwreck of the Gigabyte 55" model in 2021:
-Additional DisplayPort
-Less reflective screen (can be a pro or con - probably a con for me)
-Bigger heatsink & cooling which they're advertising 900 nits (3%...
May be like their first 55" OLED panel with the gimped non-existant HDR, but there may be some hope from that article:
"DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification, though it can hit 1,000 nits peak brightness, and like most OLED panels"
This is similar to even the LG OLED's, where full screen HDR...
The ASUS models have a large heatsink as well and are advertising 900 NITS of HDR (3% window) which may be nice. Time will tell, the Gigabyte OLED promised the moon and was a bust compared to the LG C1 models.
New OLED 34” Alienware ultra wide OLED monitor btw and also Asus ROG 42” & 48” OLED monitors w/ DP in addition to HDMI 2.1, big heatsink for higher HDR, etc.
So I'm taking another attempt at Dolby Atmos PC Gaming since I'm upgrading to a much more expensive audio system (finally got approval from the wifey, lol). While waiting on my new speakers to come in, I seem to have gotten Dolby Atmos to work just using my current speakers (I just plugged my...
I'm a bit pissed because I have a 12900K and a Rog Z690 Apex sitting in a box on my floor right now. I'm seeing $250 DDR5 sets being bid up to like $1000+ on Ebay....I didn't realize getting RAM would be as hard as getting a GPU these days. I refuse to pay scaler prices, but I also need...
I decided to return my 4 Dolby Atmos Speakers + 2 channel external amp + expensive wires before I got to the end of my return period.
I use my system 100% for PC gaming only, so Atmos didn't make much sense for me.
There's literally only a few dozen games that support it (since its inception...
Ok, going to blast you all with pictures just to confirm I'm not crazy and some odd behavior showing the audio data via OSD:
General TV input:
Windows 11 normal 7.1 speaker setup:
Receiver with PC Gaming WITHOUT Atmos app (normal 7.1 Multi-Channel sound - Notice the DD surround logo...
