To ZFS or not to ZFS!

I have finally finished my build that took me over 2 years of planning/buying... Before going into details, here are my specs: -> Chassis (Norco RPC4224) -> Motherboard (X10DRI-O) -> CPU (1x Xeon E5-2620) -> RAM (Samsung EEC DDR4 16x2) -> PSU (800w+800w mini redundant PSU "R4B-800G1V2") -> SAS...

    New server build not working

It finally worked, I took the whole thing apart and removed it from the chassis and placed it on a anti-static bag and reconnected the minimum requirements and now its working! :)

    New server build not working

I got my splitter today but that still didn't work, so I thought maybe there was a problem with my monitor even though it works for my other server, so I changed it with another one and it worked, but it showed me a post message and was stuck on it, this is the screenshot: All it said "System...

    New server build not working

My PSU already has an 8pin 12V EPS, the other 8pin will have the molex to 8pin adapter, would that be better than using the 8pin EPS to dual 8pin EPS?

    New server build not working

Thanks for the reply guys, I think that might be the problem as well, I ordered the 8pin to dual 8pin from Amazon, will receive it in 3 days hopefully and update you guys. How would that work against the molex to 8pin adapter?

    New server build not working

no I did not. Manual says I have to connect both 8Pin EPS12V if I want additional power, but I only have 1 output from my PSU

    New server build not working

I built up this server and it starts (all fans are on, mobo LED lights, HDD lights) but I get no video output. Here are the components: -> Chassis (Norco RPC4224) -> Motherboard (X10DRI-O -> CPU (Xeon E5-2620) -> RAM (Samsung EEC DDR4 16x2) -> PSU (800w+800w mini redundant PSU "R4B-800G1V2")...

    Setting up 24 HDDs?

    *Pump*, So, anything? =3

    Pooling drives question.

I tried it but it wasn't like what I wanted. I don't care about duplicating. What I care about is that the new Pooled drive will already have the folders and files inside the pooled Drives instead of starting off Empty.

    Pooling drives question.

I've always been trying to find ways to pool my drives but every solution I find is not really what I had in mind. Lets say I have this scenario: 4 of (4x4TB HDD in RAID5) so that's a total of 4x 12TB of data = 48 TB of storage. Drives are labeled: H, I, J, K. (each 12TB) I want to pool...

    Setting up 24 HDDs?

I'm in the midst of changing to a new system to be able to expand my storage. Currently my old case could only store 10 HDD slots so I got a Norco RPC 4224 that can afford 24 hotswap slots. Along the way I also got a dual CPU mobo and an actual Xeon CPU this time with 32GB EEC DDR4 RAM which I...

    Upgrading system without losing OS

I'm upgrading my current server and was wondering if I can do the move without losing any data or the OS (Windows 7 Ultimate) settings itself. Here are the things that are going to change -> Chassis (Norco RPC4224) -> Motherboard (X10DRI-O -> CPU (Xeon E5-2620) -> RAM (Samsung EEC DDR4 16x2) ->...
