Macs are a giant tend at my school (University of Houston). They sell them at the campus computer store and the Honors College has them in every room. If your wife isn't computer savy and a mac will work for her than she might want to go that route. OSX is noob friendly, that why most of my...
I don't really see what is with all the complaints. I have a T260HD and its a good screen. Its not the best screen ever but the price is right. The 1080p 32" TVs are much more expensive (atleast for the good brands) and some don't even have as good of response times. Not a single one of my...
4gb corsair flash voyager mini, its hooked onto my keys (never know when you might need it), the cell phone of course, and I usually have my Ipod with me. The Tablet is with me about half the time.
That is incorrect information. My tablet gets 6+ hours with wifi on and half screen brightness, much better than most notebooks. If you are interested in a tablet check out http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/ it offers a plethora of information. A good tablet that gets great battery life can be had...
If you look on their list they also claim the 2730p tablet gets 15hrs battery life. I have yet to hear of anyone getting more than 7 hours on that machine. They are full of it.
The website says 4.1lbs which (via google converter) is 1.86kg. If you are dead set of the screens size, I feel that is the best compromise your going to get.
Battery life and weight or Processing power and screen size
Choose which you want, because they don't make a computer with all of the above. As pointed out above, you can get one with possibly 3 out of 4 criteria. PCs that tend to be classified as "ultra-portable" are 12.1" or less in screen...
Start --> Run ---> /msconfig ---> Startup tab
A large part of startup times is the HDD. I know that by upgrading to a 7200rpm HDD my times were drastically cut down. The only concern I would have is if you can find a 7200rpm drive for it. I know on newegg they only have 5400rpm for ATA.

There is a link to a good review. My father just bought one, but has only had it a few days. From what I have seen its a very nice computer with plenty of speed. Judging by the specs I would expect it to be able to play many of the current...
I definitely like the look, but its without doubt a niche item. With as little as 3 hour max battery (even if you got it up to four) its pretty much useless though. My computer can easily get 6+ with wifi off (on a 6 cell). They should really invest in a Ultra Low Voltage dual core processor...
+1
My tablet has been really useful for marking up profs' PowerPoint and pdf documents. The only down side on the tablet is they are pricey, but with 1600 you could easily swing a nice one.
