    Dell U2311H

could anyone quickly check the power cable that comes with the monitor? Is it the I-sheng with 10A/125V? I had to send my defective PC back and now I can't figure out which cable goes with what! The other cable I have says 10A/250V and i'm thinking that's the PC one.. I don't know if it matters...

    New computer, Graphics completely FUBAR

Thanks everyone for the advice and support. I'm sending the PC back today, but I will give them another chance to try to fix it, although I have doubts as to whether it will actually work the next (being the third) time I receive the computer. I probably should have just asked for a...

Thank you! I wish I did know somebody from here to get help from. Anybody live near Reno? haha.

It just gets better and better. I guess I shouldn't have expected a full Windows 7 license or something.. did not know there were such restrictions.

    New computer, Graphics completely FUBAR

Well now I can't install windows. I've retried twice from the CD they provided, and it keeps asking for the activation code. Which is not on the CD, not on the CD slip, not on the case. The only serial-number-like things that are on the case I've tried, none are long enough. The reinstall...

The premium you have to pay for some of those places isn't like a matter of a couple hundred dollars.. it's a matter of a thousand dollars+, and that's what really stopped me from going somewhere else. and yeah, I had a lot of issues with Cyberpower. The reason the whole case fiasco (which I...

    New computer, Graphics completely FUBAR

It was Cyberpower. and they have been very nice so far, but frankly, having already waited 1.5 months to even boot up this computer, I really want to send it back and try a rush order from ibuypower. But based on everything i've read about ibuypower, i sincerely doubt that a rush order would...

    New computer, Graphics completely FUBAR

PSU is a corsair 850w, so if it's the problem, it's defective. Windows disabled one of the graphics card and said it was causing errors. I'm afraid to open up the case and touch anything in case the company wants to void warranty or blame this on me or something crazy like that. I'll look at...

    New computer, Graphics completely FUBAR

I'm literally at wit's end. I'm completely clueless when it comes to computers, but after years of using a teeny laptop, I ordered a very nice computer with dual EVGA 460s. It took 3 weeks for them to ship, and then they shipped with the wrong case ("oops we somehow scanned the wrong item") so...

2X NVidia 460 & sound card too much for case/Mobo

I did end up ditching the sound card. I'll be getting my PC today once I get home from work. I do think I'll try to figure out how to build these things myself for the next time.. especially since right now, I don't even know if I could tell whether they set up the graphics cards in the best...

2X NVidia 460 & sound card too much for case/Mobo

Thanks, you're great at making me feel better and making choices easy. Now I'm just trying to get ahold of my CS person to remove the sound card and hopefully have it shipped ASAP. I really hope they do it quickly.. I'm dying to upgrade from my 13-inch laptop!

2X NVidia 460 & sound card too much for case/Mobo

While looking at motherboards, I previously just copy and pasted into newegg. Didn't realize until now after looking more closely that the GigaByte GA-X58A-UD3R they use is Rev 1.0 instead of 2.0. Grr.. I guess this is one of the ways they save on costs. I can't figure out exactly when Rev...

2X NVidia 460 & sound card too much for case/Mobo

It was another option I was considering, but if onboard audio is decent nowadays, I probably won't notice. As for the retailer.. other than the mixup, I have to say they were pleasant to work with.. until today, anyways. Today the guy sounded mad at me because I'd called Cooler Master asking...

2X NVidia 460 & sound card too much for case/Mobo

That might be the best option.. I'm not an audiophile by any means, although I intend to watch movies and pretty constantly listen to music. I really didn't want the full tower options because they're unwieldy and heavy for me. This whole debacle is just giving me a headache at this point.. at...

2X NVidia 460 & sound card too much for case/Mobo

Thank you, that was actually very helpful. No, the sound card is just PCI. The only PCI-Express option they have is $150 more than the one I had chosen. So now I have to decide whether it's worth it to pay $150 more for the PCI-E sound card, or pay ~$50 more for a full tower case.
