Is now a good time to buy a 4790K?
I am in the exact same situation, I have i5 750, and I was looking to upgrade and I want to do it when the time is right.
I am out of the computer loop a bit, so I need some advice.
I was given these parts from a Dell Studio XPS :
1.i5-750, 2.66, 8MB Lynnfield 1156
2. 6GB of 1066
3. GeForce GTX650.
Are these 3 components worth keeping to make a modest gaming system?
I would need mobo, case, a new...
Great thanks!
When it says on step 2 to power down the drive and "disconnect" it, what are they referring to?
Just the SATA cable or the power to the drive as well?
I have a new Crucial M4 128MB drive and I have tried to make the drive show up in my computer via the USB adapter and it won't work. I am running Win 8 and I get the sounds like it found new hardware but nothing happens.
I am using an earlier version of this exact adapter...
Just looking for what MOBO and RAM would be most cost effective for a gaming rig with OC'ing.
I found a really cheap mobo it has one PCI-E which is fine, Im just worried I might not be able to overclock it. Looks like its more of a business board, but maybe it will work...
I will remember your wise words when I am about to delete something I actually need.
Even so me deleting the drivers shouldnt cause this (its like unistalling video drivers), so its got to be the HDTV.
Ill post back in here and let you know, seriously though, thanks for trying.
I guess I dont feel you have the knowledge to help me with this one, thanks though (unless you can show otherwise).
And yes anyone can make mistakes especially techs, but I learned that years ago.
Im going to disconnect the HDTV when I get home and go from there.
there is also viaarena that has drivers I can try. I will try this first.
I put my credentials up cause I didn't think you realised that I was a tech.
yes I am an active computer tech for the last 10+ years (I worked for Gateway, school systems, I now work in a hospital) so I tried this all last night and was anal about it, and I can only really boot up in safe mode so its easy. I mean I ran the cleaner before I shut down, then once again...
UGH, I accidently removed the Nvidia drivers in Control Panel on my FX-53 systems Nforce3, Asus SK8N motherboard, ATI 3850 AGP. :o
Simple enough right? Just DL and load the drivers back in. Well I DL 3 different drivers (from Asus site, and NV site, 5.11, 5.16) there is SM bus, GART, network...
Make sure you update your Motherboard chipset drivers!!!
Mine were updated but glitched, and I could not get the HD 3850 working on my FX-53 rig with SK8N. After I updated chipset this time though I noticed the AGP 8x was finally installed correctly in the CCC and all the games work now. Im...
