Thanks a lot Ribcage. I didn't dare doing that, the last time i looked into it.

    Remote boot sector ?

Well, something which crossed my mind. Making a virtual partition between a tiny part of the ssd, which would host the mbr, and the nvme would host the rest of the system. Mind you, it has to use inherited bios. Starting to get over my actual head. I need to delve back into microsoft website...

    Remote boot sector ?

Thanks a lot GotNpoRice. Well, that defeats the purpose of using NVME. What would be interesting is the speed of bootup. Otherwise, SSD is good enough. Anybody knows the oem manual for W10 ?

    Remote boot sector ?

Hi everybody. I'm not a frequent visitor here. Sorry. I like to play with old Tyan server boards. And have two, with NVME, which are not bootable. Obviously. At the time of Windows 98 and 2000, it was possible to have a boot sector on one disc. And the rest of the OS, on another disc. For...

Split system? Win7 and NVME idea?

Hi everybody. Well, may be ten years i haven't been here. At the time of old athlon Mp multiprocessor platform. I, by sheer luck, managed to install my system partly on the IDE, something like boot, boot path. And the rest onto the scsi drive. I'm playing with cheap and old gear now. A...

Completely stumped about scsi and sata

Hi everybody! I have an old tyan s2882D, twin opterons 285, 4GB of memory. One 200GB ide, for storage. One 73gb scsi as the boot. i enabled the onboard sata, connected a 200GB sata hd, ans did a copy of the 200GB ide, no prob. Then changed the parhelia graphic card, for a zotac, since the...

PCI Ge force 9300GS or parhelia?

Thanks a lot Gotnorice. Well, thankfully i know the différence between PCIE and PCIX. But i didn't think of the blady 5 volt thing. I hope the seller takes it back. The Zotac 610 should do the job. If this can be of any help for other readers, the GE force 9300 pci doesn't work in PCI-X slots.

PCI Ge force 9300GS or parhelia?

Uber Scheisse! I knew that PCI-X was fit-able into a PCI slot, but, the big but, the contrary doesn't work. I'm feeling rather stupid! Now, i have a PCI card, and can't use it. Any idea?

PCI Ge force 9300GS or parhelia?

Guys, a daft question (i gonna pass for a dumber now) the ebay GEforce 9300 claims being 128bits, and the zotac 64bits, in terms of grâphic cards, what does this mean?

PCI Ge force 9300GS or parhelia?

Thanks a lot Stoly! I've read about this. But what about the plastic connectors?

PCI Ge force 9300GS or parhelia?

Thanks a lot guys, by the way, i'm no gamer whatsoever. Working with sketchup, audition, photoshop. So, i need a decent card, not something mad! I get back to what happened, a win update, then one day after the card started bugging, just after i connected a sata HD. That was the first time...

PCI Ge force 9300GS or parhelia?

Ok, Thanks a lot StormUP. Would be cool if i could find something like the KX mixer but for graphic cards. Would enable me to see if it's card related or software related. Since it's not a cheap card, i'm not happy that it seems to fail. Thanks again.
