I just swapped out the 8700K I've had since launch for a 9900K. I never had a single issue with the 8700K. It chewed up games without a hiccup for years and I also had it paired with a Noctua D15. Completely stock my system was basically silent except for GPU fans with temps never exceeding the...
Mine had that as well which is why I returned it. Every ultrawide panel I've had (5 now) has the same uniformity issue to varying degrees, but the Alienware was the worst I've seen. The right side was also noticeably darker which compounded the problem. It wasn't noticeable during gaming really...
Yeah I think that's probably what I was experiencing with the Alienware. It didn't feel as slow as some non-gaming monitors I've used in the past (I used to use IPS displays meant for color critical work back before gaming IPS monitors were a thing), but there was a sense of immediacy that was...
Well I just submitted my return to Dell. For context, I meant for the Alienware to replace the LG 38GL950 I had owned for the past year. The fan noise on the LG was something I never got used to even after a year. While the Alienware is dead silent, the unit I got was disappointing in other...
Does anyone else have some panel uniformity issues in terms of color and luminance? The right third of my monitor is obviously darker and differently tinted from the rest. To be honest, my LG 38GL950G was significantly better when it came to obvious panel uniformity, and I'm wondering if it's...
No sleep issues here, but I did notice that Windows "reset" my monitor sleep settings entirely from my previous monitor. I installed the monitor driver from Dell and also set the sleep settings back to my normal settings, and everything seems to functioning as expected.
Welp, holy shit it actually shipped today. Estimated delivery is Friday.
EDIT: Well, the label was created at least. Hopefully it actually goes out today.
FWIW I tried the C9 as a monitor and it was useless for productivity. There's an undefeatable dimming function that if you have a static level of brightness in whatever you're doing (such as a white webpage or a dark movie or game) the whole panel will gradually change brightness on its own. It...
Most likely it'll have some bleed like you mentioned since it's part and parcel of this type of panel, but I'll withhold judgment until I see it in person. The reviewer said he was cranking up the exposure on his camera to show it better, but it'll be hard to judge how bad it really is until it...
I just folded like a cheap suit. I ended up splurging on the overnight shipping since there was no sales tax and it was less than $65. I'm seriously doubting it'll ship tomorrow, and even if it does it most likely won't arrive on Thanksgiving.
This monitor is now available for preorder from B&H. They don't have an "expected by" date anymore, but the fact that preorders are available seems to imply that they're shipping soon.
