Retina is not a scientific term. It means "impossible for the human eye to resolve individual pixels at normal viewing distance". FYI, the newest iPad is well under 300 dpi.
All reviews I've read so far claim the screen quality is exceptional. The same as upgrading to an iPhone 4/4S, or going from SDTV to HDTV. I can't wait.
I use Printopia and print from my iPhone and iPad without getting an AirPrint enabled printer. You can also print directly to Dropbox with a PDF. Free trial available, $20 for a license. Printopia rocks!

Photo Stream is the most recent 1000 pictures you've taken, saved in the cloud. I think they also last only 30 days as well.
I'm enjoying Photo Stream so far, but I wish photos could be deleted. Either way, it's a very convenient service.
