Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The point, obviously, is to find a solution to the problem, or at least understand why this is happening. I think I've figured it out thanks to a reply from another forum. Basically, PCIe 6800GTs can handle more power because they have an extra mosfet on the card and take a more powerful PCIe...
Great advice guys thanks. So are ultras faster or something? They cost the same right? Why the hell would I buy this pos GT. Sorry I didnt want to spend $500 on a vid card. Ill go fuck myself.
I posted about this same thing way back:http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=882695
My card wont take 1.4v, it always crashes at that voltage. Im now on chilled wc, 480/1200 with 13C on the core, and it STILL wont take higher volts. Christ guys what does it take to get these cards to...
Its a waste of time right now because with better cooling the RAM oc will go up. Just wait for your new cooler, add some RAMsinks and autodetect; its simple as that. Eh, I cant blame you tho, sometimes I like to oc for no practical reason when Im board :p
Well, I havent exactly tried it any higher. As I said before, the core oc is much more important. 1Mhz core give about 10+ points in 3DMark05, 1Mhz mem almost nothing, about 2+ points if that. So thats why I dont worry about mem too much and focus on the core oc. I only worry about mem oc...
I max at 1216. The RAM doesnt get much higher, nor should you worry about it too much, the core oc is much more important. Look at the 3DMark05 record holders, http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=700844 with the RAM at only 1300 with liquid nitrogen cooling. So you cant expect much...
I RMA'd a NV5 last week. Here is the email I got from newegg:
Dear valued customer,
We have recently received the RMA you have sent back to us for replacement.
This email is to inform you that your item is currently out of stock or has
since been discontinued. Because we cannot...
I also own a PNY. Right now youre dealing with a cooling issue. If you get some better cooling on that card you can hit 440 easy on stock voltage, but dont execpt the card to like higher voltage.
I had that EXACT same problem, I had to RMA to newegg the first day and pay $11.50 return shipping  The NV5 is a crap product, stick to the Zalman 700. This crap happens all the time with the NV5, sooner or later someone is going to fry a $400 card!
