Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for those sites, there are some there that I didn't know about, but what I don't see is one that also drills down into resolution capabilities. For example, will GPU X handle resolution Y at 60Hz over HDMI, that sort of thing. Nvidia's own site is even very incomplete with that...
Is it a general quality control issue with recent UltraSharps or that one in particular?
Would your experience have differed appreciably if you bought from Dell and not Amazon?
I can't speak to NCIX, but for HD packaging, I have a better feeling about Amazon than Newegg these days, that's for sure.
Interesting temperature and power charts for a 3TB Red vs a host of other drives. It's a clean sweep.

Is that DFL-WD or something else?
Is 30 seconds WD's standard? I've read comments about minutes or even hours, but I don't know to which manufacturer that was referring.
I've seen threads debating the relevance of leaving TLER limiting (which is 7 seconds) enabled or not in a desktop environment; opinions differ, but it's moot since it can be adjusted or disabled with smartctl (it doesn't survive power-cycling, but it's very easy to schedule a startup task to do...
Yes, by inference: if your HD Tune is maxing at 125, when you know you're on a port that allows more, it's not 1TB platters.
Direct evidence (these are the bare-drive weights for drives with 1TB platters):
1TB: 0.99 lb
2TB: 1.32 lb
3TB: 1.40 lb
If your drive has any more (e.g. if a...
Some interesting facts(?) from the review:
1) Hard drives that are not properly balanced may cause excessive vibration and noise in a multidrive system, reduce the hard drive life span, and degrade the performance over time.
What does "balanced" mean? Is this arguing for drives to always be...
Hilarious. I was looking right at "FYYZ" in the pics knowing full that it should be EFRX, but it still didn't set off any alarms. I guess I never thought anyone could publish a review for one thing and have it actually be for something else.
We think alike! I gave up on it at that point too, not wanting to endure the next two passes.
We did pretty much the same thing otherwise: I ran the 3 tests in GSmart first though, since they're much quicker, and if the drive is bad you'll probably know it then without having to suffer through...
