    Corsair H90 Fan Options

I am very happy with the stock fan on my H90. I would like to find another fan to mount to the back side of the radiator. Anyone know where to find another identical Corsair PWM fan? I emailed Corsair but so far... crickets.

I have to say, that is the first time I've seen any computer flame like that.

Best current 24 port RAID card?

FWIW I have two identical builds, processor, MB, memory and drives - one with a 1280-24 and the other with an 1880iX-24. A 12-2tb drive RAID6 array builds in almost exactly the same time on either controller. Write speed is only marginally faster on the 1880 - maybe 10%. The reason I...

Norco - silence & how to use this hardware?

The extra metal is for mounting redundant power supplies and for certain Xeon processors. Unfortunately I've seen nothing showing exactly how they are used.

Best current 24 port RAID card?

I would agree with both. I have an ARC-1880iX-24 with Hitachi arrays and it has not had a hiccup since built in January. I also have an ARC-1280 purchased off of eBay that has been running well for about the same length of time - also with 2 RAID 6 12-drive Hitachi arrays. Using Seagate LP 2TB...

Windows 7 compatible esata external enclosure

Every eSata enclosure I have tried with my W7 64-bit has worked, both by plugging it into a specific eSata port on the motherboard or to a Sata to eSata cable attached to the front panel. Without enabling AHCI, you will likely need to reboot before the device is recognized.

    Physical PluRay/DVD to Hyper-v WHS

Unfortunately My Movies has two limitations - it only installs as an add-in under WHS and it must store the rips on the server it is installed on. The elegance of the system is that you siomply put the disc in the drive and it rips, then adds it to the database, then ejects the disc - without...

    Physical PluRay/DVD to Hyper-v WHS

Last month I posted pictures of a WHS/Server 2008 build and among the comments I was asked why I built a physical WHS server instead of using Hyper-v. There were a number of reasons why I chose the configuration I did, but the question did start me thinking about the advantages of a virtual WHS...

Me too! I have a similar issue with a couple of Norco RPC-4224 cases and that lower image would be perfect. Let us know what you find in terms of vendor, etc.

Looking for simple external adapter fo 3.5 HDD

You'll need a power supply with a 3.5" drive. Like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812816014&cm_re=usb_to_sata_adapter-_-12-816-014-_-Product This will work with legacy IDE as well as SATA

ARECA Owner's Thread (SAS/SATA RAID Cards)

FWIW I have an HP expander with an attached RAID6 array of 20 Hitachi 5K3000 drives. I have been stressing the array by copying ~18TB of large media files to the array. I have done the same process for 7 consecutive nights without a hiccup from either the drives or the expander. I saw...

The [H]ard Forum Storage Showoff Thread - Post your 10TB+ systems

WHS standalone/ Hyper-V - this was all part of the planning evolution. When I started this I was planning on multiple RAID6 arrays for media storage, using 2TB drives. My collection was over the 40TB that I could put on 24 drives, so I knew I would have to go with some sort of SAS expansion...

That is a mapped share on my WHS server. It is a well known flaw in WHS DE. It reports the space remaining on the total pool, but only the capacity data partition on the system drive, not that of the drive pool - when they are mounted as shares on another computer. I believe that issue is...
