    Raid parameters are block size, order of the hard drives, and parity placement. If the raid controller is inaccessible or causing freezing, you may want to label the drives (so you remember what order they were in, and then just connect them to the sata ports on your motherboard.

    help deciding best network solution

    I have used the windows dynamic thing for disks of different size before, and it works fine. Each drive is essentially just JBOD and stuck together. In fact I still use it for one of my arrays.
