    260 sli or 275, or a 280?

A transformer makes noise (squeals) and generates excessive heat when it is overtaxed, not under. If the op continues to run the same mobo and cpu, he will probably be fine with two lower level gpus in sli. But if he decides to upgrade to i7 or a newer platform and if he decides to listen to...

    260 sli or 275, or a 280?

I guess you and I live and operate in different parts of the galaxy. I have many teammates running tri-sli and none suffer from undertaxing their psu's. Underload seriously?

    260 sli or 275, or a 280?

There is nothing wrong with an "oversized" psu.... helps to allow room for expansion and tri-sli if you decide to run that way eventually. +1 to the idea of 260-216 sli, my son has that setup and adores it. CPUs I would get the e85 or e86, fantastic gaming/benchin proccys.

    Best choice for me now

Well I would tell the op that I went from a QX9650 at 4-4.2GHz to an e8600 at 4.5-4.7GHz and would never switch back. It was on a 790i ultra all wc'd and 3xgtx280hc's. Before goin i7, the c2d was the fastest setup out there for benchin/gaming, period.

How much does a high end rig pull? Its less than you think...

guess you just explained how dell and gateway still do a decent business in desktops.... sorry, its just hard for me to get my head around people that care enough to build their own rig, not caring about oc'n, growth, longevity and the need to go faster...;)

How much does a high end rig pull? Its less than you think...

Riddle me this....why do people buy and run smaller psu's, with virtually no expandability and very close to the systems/psu's limits, just to save 50$-100$? When a psu running at its limits has a shortened lifespan and could take alot with it when it goes, I just don't get why others do that.

Picking a CPU for first DICE run

Wish I knew more about extreme cooling, probably influence my recommendations for cpu's.

    Best radiators

The clouding is kind of a drag, but I have personally seen a 965 in a socket completely submerged in feser f1, boot up and run. Thank god it wasn't mine....gutchecktimeforsure. Tubing, I prefer the 7/16"id 11/16"od Tygon the most.

186.18 WHQL drivers out (June 18th)

I have heard that as well, and thats why I haven't left the 185.85's.

How are we cooling this? If its on air, there is no way that a quad is goin to stay cooler than a c2d. Your probably talking 400-600MHz difference in oc at similar heat level. In most apps, thats a 15% gain in processor speed, and if its a cpu bottleneck to the gpus, that can be huge.

    EVGA X58 LE & 12GB?

I love Mushkin and Corsair ram and have had nothing but good experiences with them. Its important to remember that the 950 can oc to 4.2ghz on air in its sleep. At 23x183 and your ram at 2:8, it will still be running 1460 Mhz and thats a healthy oc for 1333 ram. Best to buy at least 1600 if not...

186.18 WHQL drivers out (June 18th)

Nah, I think brushing your teeth is overated as well. Seriously, imo if you want the best performance in benches and games, I feel its important to clean up the old registry before updating drivers, especially display drivers.

    LCD monitor for gaming.

I have zero ghosting on this monitor. I have played Crysis/Warhead/FO3 among others at the highest settings at 19x10 with nothing but fantastic views. I think higher quality lcds mean better picture quality.

Clean Case Recommendation for SLI I7 Build

+1 for C2D's for gaming....+1 i7 for benching. E8500 does 4.2 on air in its sleep and looses no ground to quads unless you have more of a workload than games.
