    Does a 4790 (non-K) have the same TIM in 4790K?

    I didn't even check! The 4790 ran in the low thirties at stock. The 4790k runs in the high twenties at stock. In games 4790 topped out at 50C. The 4790k tops out at 40-45C. My guess is 4970k has better TIM and voltage regulation. Not a ton of difference at stock settings.

    I swapped a 4790 for a 4790k today. I noticed a 5C drop in temps. No delid, OC, or any scientific analysis. I'd bet different TIM from my limited experience.

    Yes Sir, it was the only 865PE that supported the E6600. It was not sold in the US. I got a couple from AU and a few from UK. Fun board with the X850 XT PE and some DDR PC4800 IIRC.

    Hey, I saw the news at Hexus, and went to AMD Game and found 10.8's were the latest. I then opened Steam and read the news section. I exited Steam and then a couple of minutes later CCC just opened on my desktop. It was only the 10.8 version but its kind of spooky just the same! :eek:

    I don't know much about HTPC's (SFF) but an E8XXX series wolfdale E0 CPU is a good cool running CPU that can be overclocked to eliminate a bottleneck, depending on your GPU.
