I wouldn't trust someone to fire either at me, even if there were a 1/4" steel plate behind the book "just in case". Person could miss, could break a rib or in the case of the .50 BMG, it would likely go through the steel plate too.

Honestly I think you are more of the problem than you realize. If you NEED a phone to remember things, the phone is officially replacing your memory. People don't think they need to remember facts or math anymore because of technology and only getting worse as time goes on.
